Using PayPal and Activity Exchange Q. How does a Member pay for an Activity using PayPal? A. If an event can be paid for by PayPal then the link on the left of the Activity page will say "Book/Pay" instead of the normal "Book". If a member books using this link for such an event they will be offered the opportunity to pay by PayPal. Q. What does a Member do when they get to the PayPal site? A. If they already have a PayPal account they only have to logon and click one button to confirm the transaction. If they do not have an account then they can pay by giving their Credit Card details in the same way as they would for any internet payment. Q. How does the member know that the payment has gone through? A. They will get an email from PayPal. Q. How does an Activity Organiser say what the Activity costs? A. Activities already contain four 'Money' fields which are the costs for an Activity. The are costs for "Members", "Members Guests", "Non-Members" and "Deposit". Q. What if the Activity Organiser needs more cost options? A. If the Organiser click on the box marked "Show More Cost Options" when adding the event they will be able to access up to five extra costs. For each of these they can be named and a cost given. For a weekend away the costs might be for "Camping", "Bunk Barn" and "B&B". The member who books can then choose what they want. Q. How does the Organiser know that a payment has been made? A. They will get an email from Activity Exchange detailing the payment and showing all the bookings and payments made so far for the Activity. They will also, unless it's been disabled, get an email once the Activity has passed giving a list of all the payments made. Q. What happens if a Member Books but does not pay? A. The Organiser will get an email from Activity Exchange for the Booking but will not get one for the payment. In such a case, where payment is due, it is expected that the member will pay by some other means. Q. Where does the money go? A. The money goes straight into the Clubs PayPal Account. Q. How does the Club know that the payment has been made? A. The Club can get Immediate (on each transaction), Daily (if transactions that day), Weekly (if transactions that week) or Monthly (if transactions that month) Reports. These four kinds of report can be enabled/disabled individually. |
