Activity Exchange has a facility to Download your Activities for Diary/Bulletin/Newsletter Production. Q. How do I download my Activities for making a Diary/Bulletin/Newsletter? A. Simply go to your clubs page on Activity Exchange and click on the link "Diary Download". Q. What items can I download? A. You can Download Activities only or Activities and Booking Deadlines or Booking Deadlines only. Q. What Activities can I Download? A. You can choose to download any combination of three kinds of Activities. Your own Clubs Activities, Activities that your Club has been Invited to by another Club and those Activities that you can access as your Club is a permanent Guest of another Club. Q. How can I specify the Date Range I want? A. There are three ways you can do this. You can simply say you want everything from now onwards, you can specifiy a Period such as "Next Month" or "Month After Next" or you can specify from a specific date for some number of days. Q. What Download Formats are available? A. Currently there are two. Excel Spreadsheet and an XML file. More are planned. Q. What is the format of the Spreadsheet? A. It is a Spreadsheet with a single sheet. The first row is column names and the subsequent rows are for each Activity. Q. What about Security? A. You can only download what you are allowed to see anyway. If you are not Logged on then you will only be able to download what any member of the public could see. Q. What can I do with these Downloads? A. You can do many things with these downloads. They contain your raw Activity information and are intended for further processing. Q. Any examples of further processing? A. Yes. There is a sample Word Macro available which will process the Excel Spreadsheet to provide a Diary section for a Club Bulletin. It is intended for use with Office 2003 but should either work, or work after small changes, with any modern version. You can download it with instructions from here MakeBulletin.doc. |
